: The Waterbase Ltd, engaged in manufacturing shrimp feed, today said the profit after tax for the quarter ending March 31, 2018 stood at Rs 2.49 crore as against Rs 2.84 crore during the corresponding quarter last year.
For the financial year 2017-18, PAT rose to Rs 29.90 crore from Rs 11.57 crore recorded the previous year.
Total income in January-March 2018 increased to Rs 66.61 crore from Rs 59.78 crore during the corresponding quarter last year.
For the year ending March 31, 2018 total income went upto Rs 344.28 crore from Rs 323.49 crore.
"Year 2018 has been a landmark year for the Waterbase. Focus on shrimp feed business and leveraging distribution network led to growth", chief executive officer of the company Ramakanth V Akula said in a press release.

Stating that the company made the highest-ever annual profit in 2017-18, he said, "We've made progress in launching our first Vannamei shrimp hatchery unit".
The company has completed the construction of the phase-I of the unit and was awaiting approval to commence a trial run, he said.
The board of directors has recommended a dividend of Rs 1.50 per share for 2017-18.
