For the first time, soft music will be introduced in the West Bengal Assembly and its premises to remove stress of members who worked under tremendous pressure.
"It may be sounds of sitar, sarod, shenai or Rabindra Sangeet which will be played for 15 minutes from 10.40 am till the alert bell rings at 10.55 am before the House begins at 11.00 am," Speaker Biman Bannerjee said here today.
"This new concept will be implemented from June 9 in the Assembly," the Speaker said.

Asked if it existed in any other Assembly or in the Lok Sabha or Rajya Sabha, Banerjee, replied "We have introduced it. You know this much."
Earlier music at important crossings in the metropolis was introduced by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to give relief to commuters.
