A tribal woman was allegedly beaten to death by her son following an altercation over a petty issue in Kudlung village, on the foothill of Dalma forest, police today said.
Bhadronath Hembram in an inebriated state demanded for food and got infuriated for delay in serving it, police said adding that an altercation ensued between mother-son.
In a fit of rage, Bhadronath picked up a lathi and attacked his mother Gurubari Hembram, (39), injuring her fatally last night, police said.
On being informed of the incident, a police team today rushed to the spot and recovered the body, which was sent for post-mortem.
Police also arrested Bhadronath.
