Woman alleges husband, in-laws forcibly fed her abortion pill

A 21-year-old woman has alleged that her husband and in-laws forcibly fed her an abortion pill after which she lost her child and also tried to strangulate her as she couldn't fulfill their dowry demand.

The victim's father in a police complaint yesterday alleged that his daughter's in-laws used to harass her for dowry and on May 15, when they came to know about her pregnancy, they forcibly fed her a drug which led to her miscarriage.

He alleged that the family demanded a car and Rs 5 lakh from his daughter.

The in-laws also tried to strangulate her to death using a rope and when she became unconscious, they dumped her in a nearby village, police said.
 

A case has been registered against nine person including the husband under sections 498A, 307 of the IPC, police said.
