Woman beaten to death on suspicion of mobile theft

A 30-year-old woman was beaten to death on suspicion of stealing a mobile handset in Alhaganj area here, police said today.

Kusuma Devi was beaten to death by Sanjeev, Rajeev and Babloo, allegedly on charges of stealing a mobile set in Girdharinagar village on Sunday night, they said.

Kusuma's husband, who had left the house the same night fearing more trouble, lodged an FIR yesterday .

The body had been sent for postmortem and efforts were being made to arrest the accused.
