Woman charred to death, husband suffers burns

A woman was charred to death and her husband suffered burns when their room caught fire at New Hasimara in Jalpaiguri district.

The man was admitted to a hospital at Alipurduar.

The police said the room in which the couple was sleeping bore the brunt of the fire late last night. The other three rooms were unaffected.

The police were yet to ascertain the cause of fire.
