A 40-year-old woman and her 14-year-old daughter were today killed in a road accident in Odisha's Ganjam district, police said.
The incident took place at Makundapur on Aska-Buguda Road under Aska police station limit, about 45 km from here.
The deceased were identified as G Kantala Reddy and her daughter Tejaswini. They were travelling in a motorcycle along with one Sikili Reddy to the Aska hospital when the accident took place.
Police said the motorcycle rammed a truck from behind while trying to overtake it.
Sikili, who was driving the motorcycle, also sustained injuries and has been admitted to the Aska hospital.
Police have seized the truck and detained its driver, said inspector in-charge, Aska police station SK Jena.
