A 30-year-old woman allegedly hanged herself to death after strangulating her five-year-old daughter in Ghatampur village in Barsathi area here, police said today.
Rajana Devi allegedly strangulated her daughter Anishika to death and then committed suicide last night after a tiff with her husband, they said.
The bodies were recovered from their room this morning after the family members saw them lying through the window and informed police.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem and an investigation is underway, they said.
