A 36-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide here by hanging after being harassed by her husband for years, as she was issue less, police said today.
One Surajpal complained that his sister Rajbala yesterday committed suicide by hanging from a fan in her house, a police spokesperson said.
Rajbala got married to one Masi twenty years ago but her husband used to harass her and beat her as she had no child, he said.
She might have took the extreme step over the harassment by her husband, he said.
On the basis of Surajpal's complaint, an FIR has been lodged against Rajbala's husband, he said.
An investigation is underway in the matter, the Spokesperson said.
