A 32-year-old married woman was allegedly immolated by her in-laws for not meeting their dowry demands in Shiv Shakti Nagar area here, police said today.
According to a complaint filed by victim's brother Anil, Mamata's in-laws were harassing her for dowry ever since she married Manoj Saini 12 years ago.
Mamata was set ablaze by Manoj and his two brothers Devendera and Sonu yesterday, the complaint said.
She succumbed to her burn injuries in a hospital where she was admitted in a critical condition, police said.
Her husband has been arrested in this connection and a case of dowry death has been lodged against him and his two brothers, they said adding, police is further investigating the issue.
