A 25-year-old woman was strangulated to death allegedly by her husband and in-laws over dowry demand in Abdulpur Mevada village here, police said today.
The victim, identified as Radha alias Babita, married to one Manish three years ago, was yesterday strangulated to death allegedly by her husband and in-laws over dowry demand, they said.
According to the complaint by the victim's father, Radha was subjected to harassment for dowry since the beginning of her marriage and it had increased after she gave birth to a girl child two months ago.
She was being taken for cremation when her family members reached on being informed by the neighbours and the in-laws fled the scene leaving the body behind, the complaint added.
An FIR has been registered against six persons including the husband and her father-in-law Karan Singh, police said, adding that efforts were on to nab them.
