Woman set on fire by husband

A 22-year-old woman was killed after being allegedly set on fire by her husband at Jakhauda village in Malpura area here, police said today.

Rinku set his wife Rekha afire yesterday after pouring kerosene on her, police said, adding, the victim died while being treated in a nearby hospital here.

According to neighbours, the couple had been quarrelling with each other over some issue for the last two days, police said.

Distressed over the tragedy, the husband allegedly consumed poison and currently undergoing treatment at the same hospital, police said.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered against Rinku by the Malpura police, they said.
