Youth arrested for kidnapping minor girl

A youth was arrested today for allegedly kidnapping a minor girl, police said.

The girl went missing yesterday, following which her family lodged a complaint, Barkot police station in-charge Vinod Thapliyal said.

The police found the girl today and arrested the accused, Naveen, who is a resident of the Purola area, he added.

The minor was sent to the district hospital for a medical examination.

Naveen has been booked under different sections of the IPC and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

He was presented before a local court which sent him to police custody, Thapliyal said.
