Youth found hanging dead in friend's apartment

The Bidhannagar Police today found the body of a youth from his friend's flat in Baguihati area this morning.

Iman Dutta, an engineering student, was found hanging from the ceiling of the flat of his friend, a senior officer said.

According to the officer, Iman, a resident of Purulia, had arrived with three of his friends to study engineering at a college here and was having an affair with a girl of the same group.

"Iman was staying as a paying guest in Ruby area. His friends who were staying here in a flat in Baguihati, went out and he had called the girl to the flat... But, the girl did not go there," the officer said.
 

Initial investigation revealed that Iman and his girlfriend were having some problems between them owing to her relationship with another guy and that was the reason the boy was depressed, he said.

"We are investigating into the matter and seeing what actually led to this mishap," the officer added.
