Youth goes missing in sea

A 19-year-old youth has gone missing in the sea at Machilipatnam in Krishna district, police said today.

The incident took place last night at Gilakadindi Fishing harbour when youth identified as V Durgaprasad had gone to immerse Lord Ganesha idols with his friends and family, Machilipatnam Police Sub-Inspector A G S Murthy said.

When he did not return home, his family members informed police. A search operation has launched with the help of Marine police to trace Durgaprasad, he said.

A case under relevant sections of IPC has been registered and investigations are underway, the officer added.
