A youth was killed allegedly in celebratory firing at a marriage function in a nearby village Balak, about 30 km from here, police said today.
Police said that the victim was identified as Kuldeep (25) of Balak village.
Giving details of the incident which occurred last night, a police official said that there was a marriage function taking place in the village Chaupal.
"The youth identified as Kuldeep was killed when Joginder, a resident of village Kanoh fired a shot in the air and the bullet accidentally hit him," police said.
On a complaint of Suresh, brother of the deceased, a murder case and under the provisions of the Arms Act has been registered against Joginder who has been taken into custody by the police.
