Zinc down by 0.3% on overseas cues

Speculators trimmed positions amid a weak trend in base metals overseas and subdued demand at domestic markets

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Zinc prices drifted by 0.31% to Rs 145.65 per kg in futures trade today as speculators trimmed positions amid a weak trend in base metals overseas and subdued demand at domestic markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in April shed 45 paise or 0.31% to Rs 145.65 per kg in a business turnover of 201 lots.

The metal for delivery in May also fell by a similar margin to trade at Rs 145.85 per kg in 15 lots.

Analysts attributed the fall of zinc futures to weak trend in base metals in global market and sluggish demand in spot markets.
