Press Trust of India New Delhi
Zinc prices drifted lower by 0.27 per cent to Rs 149 per kg in futures trading today as participants cut down their bets, driven by easing demand from consuming industries at domestic spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in October month shed 40 paise, or 0.27 per cent to Rs 149 per kg in business turnover of 42 lots.

On similar lines, the metal for delivery in September contracts eased by 35 paise, or 0.24 per cent to Rs 148.45 per kg in 540 lots.

Traders said trimming of positions by traders owing to slackened demand from consuming in the spot market led to decline in zinc prices at futures trade.
