Press Trust of India New Delhi
Zinc futures traded a shade lower at Rs 137.55 per kg today after speculators trimmed positions, tracking a weak global trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in September declined by 15 paise, or 0.11 per cent, to Rs 137.55 per kg in business turnover of 255 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in the October contracts softened by 10 paise, or 0.07 per cent, to Rs 138.40 per kg in 32 lots.

Analysts said the weakness in zinc at futures trade was mostly attributed to a weak trend in copper and other base metals in the global markets as home prices weakened in the biggest user China and as the dollar climbed, reducing demand for metals.
