The Karmadhaksha of Burdwan Zilla Parishad was removed by the Trinamool Congress leadership today after an inquiry.
Zilla Parishad and TMC sources said, the 'Karmadhaksha' (working executive) Ghulam Jargin was removed from his post by TMC district observer and West Bengal minister Arup Biswas.
He was charged with indulging in forcible occupation of land from villagers and extortion activities and will not be appointed in post till was absolved of the charges, the sources said.
The move was taken after preliminary probe report into the charges were submitted to the party top brass.
