3 Beauty Pageant Events Shifted To City Outskirts

Talking to reporters after a meeting of officials held here to review security arrangements for the mega show, Karnataka minister of state for home R Roshan Baig said events like Miss Photogenic, Miss Personality and the coronation had been shifted.

He said the Miss Photogenic contest would be held at Jade Gardens on November 17, Green Valley would be the venue for the Miss Personality event on November 18.

The coronation event would held at the Airforce Training Command at Yelahanka on November 24, he said.

Baig said about 12,500 security personnel, including 12 companies of para military forces, would be deployed to provide security for the event. The para military forces would start arriving in the city today.

 

A bomb detection squad from Pune would also arrive in here shortly to assist the police, Baig said.

He said the pageant show would, however, be held at the orginally planned venue Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium situated in the heart of the city.

Baig said the ABCL had agreed to pay for security arrangements and the government was likely to get what he described as a handsome amount. It would be more than Rs 1.5 crore, he said.
