LABOUR MINISTER Satya Narayan Jatiya yesterday the provident fund (PF) base would be widened and that a reduction in PF interest rates was unlikely.
The government proposes to amend the Provident Fund Act to enable companies with even 10 employees to get provident fund benefits for its staff, against the previous requirement of a minimum of 20 employees, he added.
Jatiya told reporters that rules would be amended to remove the maximum limit of monthly wages of Rs 3,500 for lodging
