Bengal Engg Wages

Nearly 2 lakh employees of the private sector engineering industry of West Bengal will benefit from a rise in their monthly wages by a minimum of Rs 128 - Rs 132, depending on their categories. This follows a tripartite agreement signed on Monday at the intervention of Chief Minister Jyoti Basu. The new pact will be effective from July 1996.
