Ford Escort Gets 70,000 Bookings

According to insiders, the joint venture company has refused bulk bookings which it suspected were merely for speculation. The exact booking figures are expected to be announced today.

Mahindra Ford has offered four 1300cc models of the Escort -- two petrol-and two diesel-driven models. The price of the car ranges from Rs 6.3 lakh to Rs 7.4 lakh and the first deliveries would begin from October 21.
