German Company To Set Up Industrial Park Near Pune

A German welding torch manufacturing company plans to set up an industrial park in Pune and invite other German companies to establish base on the site.
Alexander Binzel Schweiss-technik GmbH & Co KG of Giessen, which has been active in India for quite some time, began by exporting welding equipment. It later formed Binzel Technologies (India) in collaboration with an Indian partner in Turbe, New Mumbai, in March, 1996.
Forming a company in India does not have to cost much, managing director Richard Sattler said. His attempt was apparently to reassure many cost-conscious German entrepreneurs that one could start a business on a modest scale and save on costs by relocating outside Mumbai.
Sattler said he was trying to get ten medium-sized German companies to set up base in the park. Most of these companies will not be in direct competition with Binzels arc-shielded welding torches as they will produce other welding technology products. Sattler said he expected around 1,000-1,200 people to be working in the industrial park within three to five years. Binzel will not only provide the infrastructure to the other German companies, but will assist them in finding a local partner
