Motorola To Launch New Range Of Hi-Tech Mobiles

BSCAL

Come December and you could do without your Palm or cellphone because Motorola is set to launch phones, if one can call them so, which bring the two closer.

The Personal Information Communicator Keyboard (Pick) with a 256 colour display in a tri-band GSM-General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) device will offer you everything that you want from phone to e-mail and Net access to fax, contacts and notepad. Pick is expected to cost about $550.

For those who want all this at a lesser price, there will be V.100 that will also be launched in the European markets around the same time and is expected to cost about $250. This is a two-way pager, common in the US, targeted at the teen market. It is an e-messaging device where you can plug in the handsfree kit and chat as much as you want to.

Wait for the second quarter of next year and things could be much better. You will have a gadget, yet to be named, that not only has a calendar, an organiser but also the source for all the development that you wanted to keep track of. What's more, is that you can actually see the news reader reading out the news while the same message is also splashed on the screen in text form with stills of the event in the background. In case you are missing your girlfriend, you could substitute the news readers with her.

Motorola is to launch a Tri-band GSM and GPRS phone with a 120 mhz processor and 33 mb usable memory next year. The gizmo will offer features like jog dial, voice synchronisation, MPEG 3, multi lingual capability and plug-in Bluetooth option when in comes in and you can also video conference through it if you want to.

There is something for those interested in games too. Motorola is to introduce Tomtom, an open standard platform, that will not only enable you to play games and also give you the option to trade on the Internet with the help of Smart Mail Service.

So, if you think that you want a pair of boots to clear the next level then all you need to do is send a message to the game site and place and order, but don't forget to put your credit card number.

Wireless Application Protocol phone, Motorola Timeport P7389E, has a slot for a chip-based bank card which basically enables you to swipe the card on the phone instead of using one of the swiping machines used by the banks or the credit card companies. Timeport P7389E is to debut in the France in a few months. So, this could be the first reality.
