New Holland 70 Hp Tractor Launched

Global farm equipment major, New Holland Tractors India Ltd yesterday made its debut in India with the introduction of Ford 70 hp tractor.

New Holland will initially concentrate on models in high (70 hp) and medium power (35-50 hp) range, managing director of New Holland India Palani Kumar told newspersons here.

Admitting that a limited market for high power tractors existed in India, he said, "Market is transforming and our market surveys have shown that farmers are going in for higher efficiency and low cost options. Both these needs are met by high power equipments."

Within 18 months the company will launch 50 hp and 35 hp models which are more useful for medium and small size farm operations, Kumar said. The tractors priced at Rs 5.65 lakh plus taxes will first be marketed in northern India and selected areas in the western region.
