Nse-50 Regains Nine Points

The index opened higher at 965, compared with the previous close of 962, touched a low of 963 and a high of 975 before closing at 971, thus gaining 9 points over its previous close.
The main reason for yesterday's gains was the short-covering by operators on the last day of the trading cycle.
The turnover on the exchange crossed Rs 1,000-crore mark to touch Rs 1010.93 crore, with 5.25 crore shares being traded.
