The company which exports nearly 17,000 tonne per annum can now avail of this cushion to relieve some of the pressure from the highly competitive domestic market.
The slash in the import duty by 10 per cent in the union budget has already forced the company to slash the price of carbon black twice -- once by 5 per cent and recently by another 3 per cent. In the future, too, the company might be once again forced to slash its prices to compete with cheaper imports.
