Railway Freight Earning Up

Railways earned Rs 6,352.05 crore from revenue earning freight traffic during the first five months of the current financial year, compared to Rs 6,142.65 crore during the corresponding period of the previous year, registering an increase of 3.41 per cent, an official release said yesterday.

Of the total earnings from freight traffic, Rs 2,897.46 crore came from transportation of coal.
