Rao Trial Dampens Mood

Share values plunged at the Delhi Stock Exchange (DSE) yesterday as the bearish tendencies prevailed due to lack of support from domestic and foreign investors.

The DSE index closed at 692.20, down 0.75 points. Sources said the governments crackdown on ITC Ltd as well as former prime minister P V Narasimha raos trial cast a shadow of gloom over the bourses.

A significant fall was noticed in the ITC scrip which closed at 245, down Rs 23.25. Even ITC Hotels was down by Rs 8 and wound up at Rs107. Cement major ACC plunged by Rs 33.25 and closed at Rs 1,410.25 after opening at 1,415.
