Thai Bankruptcy

About 1,000 Thai firms are expected to face bankruptcy this year and at least 40,000 people could lose their jobs because of a sharp economic slowdown, officials and analysts said on Friday. Government spokesman Varathep Ratanakorn quoted a National Intelligence Agency (NIA) report as saying that companies most affected would be those involved in textiles, property, and restaurants.
