Thomson-Csf Sale

The French government is likely to privatise defence electronics firm Thomson-CSF through a private placement rather than a public offer. Thomson-CSF is 58 per cent held by Thomson SA, which is wholly owned by the state. Alcatel Alsthom and Lagardere Groupe bid to acquire Thomson-CSF last October.
