The wholesale debt market of the National Stock Exchange witnessed trades worth Rs 429.43 crore yesterday as against Rs 374.97 crore volume being traded on the previous day.
The corporate trade accounted to Rs 44.46 crore against Rs 124.58 crore during the previous day. Trade worth Rs 2674.12 crore took place during the entire week at the (WDM) of NSE.

A total of 68 trades were reported at the government securities counter as against 874 trades being reported for corporate debenture segment. The market was very sluggish and not many players were keen in taking positions as most banks are awaiting the auction of eight year government securities, said a dealer.
There was a selling pressure because banks were trying to liquidate their portfolio so that they can bid aggressively at the auction on Monday, he added.
The interbank call rate remained in the range of four to five per cent for the day.
The 12.59 per cent government loan maturing in 2004 was traded for Rs 113 crore at a weighted yield of 11.24 per cent. The 13.50 per cent government stock maturing in 1998 was traded for Rs 40 crore at a weighted yield of 8.25 per cent.
The 13.50 per cent ICICI bond maturing in 2002 was traded at 13.17 per cent.
