Turnover Soars, 13.5% Gilt Draws Rs 145 Cr

The wholesale debt market segment of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) witnessed transactions worth Rs 550.25 crore yesterday.

The turnover on Wednesday stood at Rs 335.30 crore.

The 13.50 per cent 1998 government security and the 13.62 per cent 1998 government loan were traded for Rs 145 crore and Rs 105 crore respectively at an indicative yield of 10.03 per cent.

The 91-day treasury bill maturing on April 19 1997 was traded at 3.63 per cent.

The 13.50 per cent 1997 government loan was traded for Rs 45 crore at an indicative yield of 8.55 per cent.

The inter-bank call rates remained in the region of 0.10-0.25 per cent throughout the day.

 

Said a dealer with a private bank, Trades witnessed a massive slump during the day but they revived by the end of the day.

Traders have made a lot of money while there is a carefully bullish sentiment, said another dealer.

Corporate debentures witnessed trades worth Rs 17.14 lakh during the day.

The 16 per cent MRPL 2002 witnessed the maximum deals at Rs 5.27 lakh.

The Industrial Development Bank of India (IDBI) Deep Discount 2021 was traded for Rs 4.88 lakh.
