Unutilised Loans

Finance ministry statistics reveal that loans exceeding $11 billion remained unutilised as on March 31, 1996. The reasons cited include failure to invest matching funds for the projects for which they were sanctioned. The unutilised credit sanctioned by the IDA is estimated at $4.94 billion besides the $4.03 billion passed by the IBRD that has not been put into use.
