Values Depressed

Led by ITC, share values stayed depressed today on the Calcutta Stock Exchange as sellers continued to dominate the proceedings. The CSE index fell by 1.64 points to 410.81. Brokers said that the latest developments in ITC had unnerved marketmen who were eager to get out of all commitments because of the poor outlook for the market in the near future.

Institutional interests also kept away with the result that the turnover was placed at nominal levels even as values sought lower levels in both the specified and non-specified lists.The mood at he closing was visibly weaker with none of the buyers around.
