| Hyderabad-based Aishwarya Telecom Limited (ATL), which is into designing and manufacturing network test equipment for copper, fibre optic and data networks, is planning an initial public offer (IPO) in the next financial year. The company's sales turnover is expected to touch Rs 16 crore during the year 2005-06. |
| G R Manohar Reddy, managing director of the company, said Aishwarya Telecom was the only Indian company to operate in the area of designing and manufacturing network equipment. |
| The company was producing 22 types of testers, of which 17 had been approved by the Department of Telecommunications, he added. |
| Recently, ATL designed a complex optical tester called Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR), which locates faults in the optical cable up to 80 km within a minute, Reddy told the media today. |
| Aishwarya Telecom is the first Indian company and the seventh company in the world to design this product. The company's products were being used by Reliance, BSNL, MTNL, Tata Teleservices, Airtel, defence labs among others, he said. |
| The company is planning to sell these equipment at a price 20 per cent lower than what's charged by the multinational companies and is targeting to capture 20 per cent market share in the first year. |
