Fairchild sets up first R&D centre in Pune

US-based global energy-efficient device manufacturer Fairchild Semiconductor has set up its research and development centre in Pune.

The centre will work on design and development of Fairchild's new generation technology-based products such as solar inverter, uninterrupted power supply (UPS) devices, lighting, automotive and ballast applications.

Fairchild has selected Pune for its R&D activities as the city has a large number of engineering and technology colleges along with a number of research institutions. Pune is also the country's automobile hub.
