NComputing, NIIT in deal

NIIT has partnered with US-based NComputing "� a provider of virtual PC solutions "� to provide low-cost PC solutions to schools. Through this joint initiative, NIIT will leverage its expertise and reach with NComputing's technology.

The partnership is expected to promote NComputing's shared computing solution. NIIT has already deployed the solution in 20 schools across the country under the 'NIIT School Station' project. NIIT offers computer and computer-aided education to 1.5 million students across 5,000 schools.

The partnership aims to promote NComputing's shared computing solution to Indian schools, thus enabling a multi-fold increase in PC-based education in government and private schools across the country, according to a company release.

"NIIT is committed to making education more impactful and interactive by leveraging IT, and ensuring that the best tools and resources are made available to millions of school students. We are pleased to partner with NComputing to make available low-cost computing solutions for schools," said L Balasubramanian, president-school learning solutions, NIIT.
