SITEL India plans HRO, LPO foray

Our Regional Bureau Chennai/ Hyderabad
SITEL India, an IT-enabled services provider, is exploring the options of venturing into infrastructure management services (IMS).

Within the knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) segment, it is also planning to foray into the human resource outsourcing (HRO) and legal process outsourcing (LPO) services.

"We have not made much progress on the KPO front though we have started with limited amount of market research and data analytics work. We are looking at moving into HRO and LPO segments," Safir Adeni, chief executive officer of SITEL India, told mediapersons on Monday.

The company is also planning to get into IMS, which is typically management of IT infrastructure with reference to networks, databases and applications. "We are exploring options of setting up a data centre," he added.

SITEL India is a joint venture between SITEL Corporation and the Tata Group. It currently employs 3,000 people in India of which around 1,100 are in Hyderabad. It operates two centres in Mumbai. The company plans to double its headcount within the next 12 months across the country.

SITEL will be investing between Rs 5 crore and Rs 10 crore in Hyderabad this year to take its headcount to 1,500. So far, the company has invested Rs 30 crore in the city.

Chennai, Vizag, Chandigarh, Goa and Kochi are on its radar for further expansion. A new centre would entail an investment of Rs 25 crore-Rs 30 crore.
