UBICS, a Vijay Mallya-owned IT company, announced upgrading its existing entry-level product lines Ventive and SeeItFirst by the end of the year.

Ventive is a web-based, recruiting and resourcing automation platform that will be upgraded as an end-to-end HR supply chain management tool.

While, SeeItFirst is a streaming media technology solution that will now commercially exploit its patent for internet video streaming. "These products will be available in the next for months," said Sunil patil, president, UBICS.

A global provider of IT and BPO services, UBICS is targetting revenues of $5 million by 2010 from products. "While the contribution to the topline will be a mere 10 per cent, products will improve our bottomline profitability by 30-40 per cent," said Patil.

Headquartered in Pittsburgh, UBICS had earlier this year announced an organisational restructing, with Patil being appointed as the global president reporting directly to Mallya.

"The restructuring was important to give an additional thrust to R&D and product devlopment which is largely being catered to from Pune," said Patil.

Also on the agenda is to develop a product for the airline industry using its internal capabilities of providing end-to-end solution consulting, IT and BPO to its parent company.

"This product will compliment our services for the airline and will be a launched next year," said Patil.
