The selection of "Court" as India's Oscars entry has been hailed by the industry with many calling it a great choice.
	The debut film by Chaitanya Tamhane was the best picture winner at this year's National film awards and garnered unanimous praise from the critics.
	Director Hansal Mehta tweeted, "So pleased to know that the FFI committee has made its choice for India's entry to Oscars. And for once they've chosen well! #Court."
	"Congratulations @CourtTheFilm! India is finally sending the right film to the Oscar selections. Superb!," wrote director Neeraj Ghaywan, whose "Masaan" was also in the race.
	Actress Usha Jadhav congratulated the team of "Court" after the announcement.
	Director Anubhav Sinha wrote, "Go Mr Tamhane. I hope you get the best marketing resources in the campaign. #Court #Oscars2016."
	Actor Ranvir Shorey said it was a well deserved honour.

The friendly equation between Shah Rukh Khan and Kapil Sharma is known to all and now that the stand-up comedian is making his Bollywood debut with "Kis Kis ko Pyaar Karoon", the superstar is 'excited' to watch the movie.
	A special screening of the comedy, directed by filmmaker duo Abbas Mastan, who also gave Shah Rukh one of his initial hits "Baazigar", has been organised here for the actor, Kajol and the team of his upcoming film "Dilwale".
	"Excited to see @KapilSharmaK9 and Abbas Mastan (my favourite director duo's ) film 'Kis Kis ko Pyaar Karoon' tonite," Shah Rukh, 49, tweeted.
	Kapil, 34, who was in Noida promoting the film has also left for the screening, which will be attended by "Dilwale" director Rohit Shetty, actors Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon among others.

Actor Randeep Hooda, who plays the role of Charles Sobhraj in his next film, says he empathised with the serial killer but did not feel sorry for him.
	"Main Aur Charles", a thriller drama, is inspired by true events and told from the perspective of renowned Indian cop, Amod Kanth, who handled the case of notorious serial killer Charles Sobhraj.
	"I empathise with him... How you can you play a character without empathising with it. I did not feel sorry for him at all. I think he knows what he is doing. It is strange as I feel he is around and understands what I am doing. So that is the kind of omnipresence this character has," Randeep told reporters here at the trailer launch of "Main Aur Charles".
	The 39-year-old actor says he would like to show the film to Amod Kanth.
	"We got exclusive (material) so we did not want to disturb them (Charles'family). Our whole thing comes from the charge sheet that was filed and the research we did," Randeep said.

Filmmaker Prawaal Raman, who is looking forward to the release of "Main Aur Charles", says he is not glorifying crime in his film, which is inspired by notorious criminal Charles Sobhraj.
	"I have written it because I did not want to glorify crime but it's a case study and a character like Charles of course is inspired from a lot of true incidents but a character like this is very enigmatic," the "Darna Mana Hai" helmer said.
	"I have seen these kind of glorified criminals... They need to be understood and portrayed in the correct fashion," he said.
	Actor Adil Hussain will be seen playing the role of a cop -- Amod Kanth in "Main Aur Charles", while Randeep Hooda portrays Sobhraj.
	"I play Amod Kanth, who was the master mind behind his conviction, because he came to know about his (Charles) intention behind breaking out of the jail," he said.

Actress Richa Chadda, known for intense roles in films like Gangs of Wasseypur and "Masaan", says she is awaiting movie offers, which give her a chance to play "candy floss, bubbly" characters.
	Richa, 28, will be next seen in thriller drama "Main Aur Charles", which is inspired by the notorious case of celebrity prisoner, Charles Sobhraj.
	"I am waiting for someone to do a film with me (having a) bubbly candyfloss (role) because I have done a lot of intense films. So to do it in 'Main Aur Charles' was not difficult. My character is very entertaining in the film, there are a lot of shades to my role," Richa told reporters here at the upcoming film's trailer launch.
	The movie, directed by Prawal Raman ('Darna Mana Hai'), also stars Randeep Hooda as Sobhraj.

Debutant Chaitanya Tamhane's National award-winning Marathi film "Court", a poignant commentary on India's judicial system, has been selected to officially represent the country in the Best Foreign Film category at the 88th Oscars next year.
	"'Court' has been selected as the official entry to the Oscars. There were 30 films in the running this year," Supran Sen, secretary general of the Film Federation of India (FFI), told PTI today.
	Tamhane's independent, low-budget but gripping drama recieved widespread praise from the critics, who hailed it as one of the best movies to emerge out of the country in recent times.
	Film's actress Geetanjali Kulkarni called the selection a "huge honour".

Marathi film 'Court' to represent India at Oscars

The ninth season of popular celebrity reality show "Bigg Boss", hosted by superstar Salman Khan, will go on air from October 11.
	An Indian version of international reality show "Bigg Brother", the series sees a number of celebrity contestants living in a house under the surveillance of 24-hour multi-cameras.
	This time the Colors show will have a concept of "Double Trouble", details of which are not out yet.
	"The moment you've been waiting for! #BB9 Premieres 11th Oct, Sun 9PM! @BeingSalmanKhan," read the tweet from the channel's official Twitter account.
	The offficial announcement of the contestants is yet to take place.

Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali has revealed the title of his romantic drama film "Love Aaj Kal" was earlier "Elastic".
	"'Window Seat' was the working title for 'Tamasha'. For 'Jab We Met', the working title was 'Train' and for 'Love Aaj Kal', it was 'Elastic'," the 44-year-helmer told reporters here last evening at the trailer launch of "Tamasha".
	To this actress Deepika Padukone jokingly said, "So it would be like Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone in 'Elastic'."
	Imtiaz has worked with both Deepika in "Love Aaj Kal" and Ranbir Kapoor in "Rockstar". This time the trio are coming together for "Tamasha", which will hit the screens on November 27.

Former James Bond Pierce Brosnan is confident that the next 007 spy after Daniel Craig will be white and male despite the debate about bringing a black actor as the face of hit franchise.

	Created and written by Joey Slamon ('Arrested Development'), "Trapped" takes places over a single night in the home of a wealthy family under attack by a murderous cult.

Sean Penn has filed a USD 10 million defamation lawsuit against "Empire" creator Lee Daniels for comparing him to Terrence Howard.
	Daniels made the comparison while discussing the domestic violence allegations against Howard.
	The complaint, filed Tuesday in New York Supreme Court, asserts that Penn was falsely accused of hitting women by being likened to "Empire" star Terrence Howard, said the Hollywood Reporter.

Director Jon Watts has revealed that Spider-Man is a 15-year-old high school boy in the upcoming reboot of the film starring Tom Holland as the wall crawler.
	The film is slated for July 2017 release, reported Aceshowbiz.
	"There are only so many times you can kill Uncle Ben. I love the idea of making a coming-of-age high school movie. We're really going to see Peter Parker in high school and get deeper into that side of it. He's just 15 now," Watts, 34, said.
	The new Spider-Man played by Holland, 19, will be the youngest one who has ever hit the big screen, and Watts is in awe of his parkour skills.

	The company's CEO, Alki David, said: "Actually, we've been talking to them for a while."
