The Guntur Lok Sabha Constituency in the state of Andhra Pradesh is currently held by Jayadev Galla of the Telugu Desam (TDP). In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, Galla beat Modugula Venugopala Reddy of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) by receiving 43.5% of the votes cast in this constituency.
Guntur is one of the constituencies in 25-seat Andhra Pradesh. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Guntur went to the polls on April 11, 2019, in Phase 1. It saw 78.57% of its registered electors turning out to vote, against 79.19% in the previous national elections held in 2014. Jayadev Galla defeated his nearest rival, Modugula Venugopala Reddy, by a margin of 4205 votes. While Galla received 43.5 votes, runner-up Modugula Venugopala Reddy polled 43.19 votes.
At the time of the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Guntur had 1,893,647 registered electors – 1,012,378 of them male and 881,269 female. The constituency had seen a 53.01% voter turnout. In 2014, the male voter turnout here was 53.91%, while 51.97% female voters turned out for voting. A total of 30 candidates had contested in this constituency. The participation of women candidates was 3.
