Lok Sabha polls: BJP will win all 25 seats in Rajasthan, says Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday exuded confidence that the BJP will win all the 25 Lok Sabha seats in Rajasthan and the margin of victory will be much more than the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections. He also said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is taking the country towards all-inclusive development. While speaking at a meeting with the representatives of various social organisations at a hotel here, Shah said the entire opposition is uniting to remove Prime Minister Modi, while on the other hand, PM Modi has only one slogan -- "development of the nation". "After independence, the Congress has worked to divide society. It has created four sores of corruption, casteism, nepotism and terrorism whereas PM Modi has freed the country from all these," he was quoted as saying in a statement from the BJP. Shah highlighted the consecration at the Ram temple in Ayodhya, abrogation of Article 370, 33 per cent reservation for women and law on triple talaq as achievements of the Modi ...

Gujarat key LS seats: Amit Shah in Gandhinagar, Mandaviya in Porbandar

Of the 26 Lok Sabha seats in Gujarat, the electoral battle in Gandhinagar, where Union minister Amit Shah is in the fray to retain his seat, will be among the most keenly watched one in the ensuing elections. Lok Sabha polls in Gujarat will be held in a single phase on May 7. Counting of votes will be held on June 4. Following are the Lok Sabha seats to watch out for in Gujarat: 1. Gandhinagar: This urban seat has been a BJP bastion for long, having sent stalwarts like Atal Bihari Vajpayee and L K Advani to Parliament. It is now represented by Shah, who defeated Congress' C J Chavda by 5.57 lakh votes in the 2019 polls. 2. Porbandar: The BJP is the dominant party here due to the large presence of Leuva Patidars, a sub caste of the numerically and electorally strong Patel community. The party has fielded Union minister Mansukh Mandaviya, a Leuva Patidar, from the seat. The minister, who hails from Bhavnagar district, has so far reached Parliament through the Rajya Sabha route. Pok part of India, its citizens are Indians irrespective of religion: Shah

Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) is part of India and its people irrespective of their religion are Indians, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Friday. He also strongly defended the Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019 and said the law was enacted to provide Indian nationality to persecuted minorities from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. "PoK is part of India. The people of PoK are also Indians - be it Hindu or Muslim. Both Hindus and Muslims of PoK are our own," he said at an interaction at the India Today Conclave. On the CAA, Shah said the law was passed in 2019 and the rules were issued now as he sought to dismissed criticism over its timing. He said those opposing the CAA claiming it is based on region are the same people who support laws such as the Muslim Personal Law. The home minister recalled that during the Partition, Congress leaders, including first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru, had said that the minorities from Pakistan would be welcomed in India. He said the

PM Modi has completed impossible-looking tasks like Article 370, OROP: Shah

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has completed all impossible-looking tasks, be it the abrogation of Article 370, which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir, or the implementation of One Rank One Pension (OROP), Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said. Shah, a Lok Sabha MP from Gandhinagar, made the remarks on Thursday after virtually attending a Gujarat government event for the launch of various projects. He inaugurated or performed ground breaking for projects costing Rs 3,012 crore in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar districts. Of all the projects for which I performed ground breaking in the last five years, 91 per cent have been completed. This is BJP's work culture," Shah said in his virtual address from Delhi. When Prime Minister Narendra Modi assumed office in 2014, the BJP's poll manifesto featured several unfinished works that were pending for nearly 50 years or more, the Union Home Minister .
