CM Naidu launches P4 programme seeking eradication of poverty in Andhra

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday launched the poverty eradication' programme - P4-Margadarsi Bangaru Kutumbam'. P4 or Public Private People Partnership aims to uplift underprivileged families with the support of affluent individuals from society. During the launch event here, two underprivileged families were invited on stage to share their aspirations. After listening to a family's aspiration to educate their children, the chief minister asked three successful entrepreneurs how they could help uplift the family. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday announced that the process of recruiting 16,347 teachers through the District Selection Committee (DSC) examination will begin in the first week of April. Addressing the third Collectors' Conference at the Secretariat, the Chief Minister said the teacher recruitment process should commence in early April and conclude with their appointment before schools reopen for the next academic year in June. "In the first week of April, the mega DSC notification will be issued. The recruitment process should begin in April and be completed before schools reopen, along with the necessary training," Naidu said during the conference. Further, the CM indicated that teacher recruitment could incorporate Scheduled Castes (SC) sub-categorisation under the A, B, C, and D categories. Georgia National University to set up varsity in Andhra at Rs 1,300 cr

Andhra Pradesh Education Minister Nara Lokesh on Monday said Georgia National University (GNU) has signed an agreement with the state government to establish a varsity in North Andhra region at an outlay of Rs 1,300 crore. The Education Minister highlighted that this partnership would elevate education standards to a global level, calling it a "big leap" for higher education in the state. GNU has signed an MoU (agreement) with the AP Govt (Andhra Pradesh government) in my presence to establish an International University in North Andhra with a Rs 1,300 Cr (crore) investment, said Lokesh in a post on X. Breakfast meeting revives Ashok Leyland's stalled bus plant in Andhra

Ashok Leyland, the world's fifth-largest bus manufacturer, in 2018 announced plans to set up a new factory near Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh. The foundation stone for the unit, which was expected to produce 4,800 buses annually, was laid in March 2018 but work stalled due to a change in the state government. Upon finding out about the stalled project, Nara Lokesh, Andhra Pradesh Minister and chairman of the cabinet committee on job creation, invited the Hinduja family to Hyderabad for a breakfast meeting on December 22, 2024. Rest is history. Roadblocks were cleared and the bus manufacturing facility was inaugurated on March 19. Andhra govt approves over Rs 1.21 trn in investments from 10 companies

The Andhra Pradesh State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB), chaired by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, approved investments worth over Rs 1.21 lakh crore from 10 companies on Thursday. The approved investments have the potential to create 80,104 jobs, including Rs 25,000 crore from Satyavedu Reserve Infracity Pvt Ltd (Sri City), Rs 58,469 crore from Indosol Solar Pvt Ltd, and Rs 22,000 crore from AP NGEL Harith Amrit Ltd, among others. "At the fourth SIPB meeting held at the Secretariat, the Chief Minister reviewed new investment proposals in the industries, power, and tourism sectors. The SIPB approved Rs 1,21,659 crore in investments from 10 companies, which will create 80,104 jobs," a press release stated. Coromandel International Ltd has acquired a majority 53 per cent stake in agro chemical firm NACL Industries Ltd for Rs 820 crore and will launch an open offer to buy an additional up to 26 per cent of equity.
