India can do 'frontier work' in AI, but investment a barrier: Nadella

India must get into frontier work in artificial intelligence and build foundational models, but investment is a real entry barrier and just one mathematical breakthrough can change entire dynamics, Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella said here on Wednesday. During his second day of Microsoft India AI Tour, Nadella said that India can do great work in the area of Indic languages and transforming its industries using artificial intelligence. "There's no reason why India can't do frontier work, but you can even define frontier pretty unique. So for example, I don't think the last known big breakthrough in AI frontier has happened. I always say we are one mathematical breakthrough away from that entire edifice being thrown out and being going after something else," Nadella said. He said academics in India, the research institutions, including Microsoft Research, are very fantastic math team and algorithms team. "Let's not be bound, quite frankly, with what is considered frontier.

It also said that artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies are reshaping the global landscape and driving upheaval, making concerted cooperation critical to harness benefits and minimise risks. The WEF's Global Cooperation Barometer offers a critical assessment of the state of global cooperation, showing a world grappling with heightened competition and conflict while also identifying various areas where leaders can drive progress through innovative collaboration. Delhi polls: Parties go tech-savvy, use AI for creative ads, sharp jibes

With Assembly elections in Delhi due in February, political parties are using Artificial Intelligence to churn out creative ads and visuals -- projecting their leaders as heroes and targeting rivals with sharp jibes. From calling its supremo Arvind Kejriwal the "GOAT" (Greatest of All Time) to portraying him as "Delhi ka Beta" (Son of Delhi), the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is creatively leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) in its campaigns. On the other hand, the BJP is labelling Kejriwal as the "Original Mahathag" (master conman) in AI-generated videos and posters. In one instance, a scene from Amitabh Bachchan's movie "Baghban", which depicts parents enduring neglect from their children despite their sacrifices, was modified with AI to feature Kejriwal, emphasising that "Delhi ka Beta" will never abandon the people. Delhi BJP's X handle also has multiple ad clips, including videos featuring Kejriwal and Chief Minister Atishi. In one such video, Atishi is shown praising Kejr
