Hinduja flagship firm Ashok Leyland on Thursday reported 39 per cent increase in total commercial vehicle sales at 14,561 units in November 2022. The company had dispatched 10,480 units to its dealers in the same month last year, Ashok Leyland said in a statement. Domestic sales were up 46 per cent at 13,654 units, against 9,364 units in November 2021, it added.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) on Thursday said its wholesales declined by 10 per cent to 11,765 units in November 2022. The company had sold 13,003 units in the domestic market in the year-ago period. TKM has discontinued compact SUV Urban Cruiser and also paused bookings for diesel version of Innova which impacted its overall dispatches last month, a company statement said.
Bajaj Auto on Thursday reported a 19 per cent decline in total sales at 3,06,552 units in November, compared to 3,79,276 units in the same month a year ago. Total sales in the domestic market stood at 1,52,716, down 4 per cent from 1,58,755 units in the same month last year, the company said in a regulatory filing. Bajaj Auto said its exports last month were down 30 per cent at 1,53,836 units, as against 2,20,521 units in the same month last year.

Passenger vehicle wholesales in India rose 29 per cent to 2,91,113 units in October aided by robust demand in the festive season, the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) said on Friday. Total passenger vehicle dispatches from companies to dealers were 2,26,353 units in October 2021. Total two-wheeler dispatches last month increased 2 per cent to 15,77,694 units as compared to October 2021. "Good market sentiments coupled with festive boost, resulted in higher sales in October, especially for passenger vehicles," SIAM President Vinod Aggarwal said. Higher inflation and rising interest rates have impacted the rural market more, thereby returning marginal growth of the two-wheeler segment, he added. Three-wheeler wholesales last month rose to 54,154 units from 31,812 units in the year-ago period. Skoda Auto India on Tuesday said its wholesales increased 11 per cent to 3,389 units last month as compared with 3,065 units in October last year. The automaker also reported retail sales of 4,173 units last month, up 29 per cent from 3,226 units in October last year. "The full five-stars in adult and child occupancy under the newer and stricter global NCAP crash test protocols is an extremely important and proud landmark for us. The Kushaq has set new benchmarks for safety, and is the safest car made-in-India. This is positively impacting our sales," Skoda Auto India Brand Director Petr Solc said in a statement. Kia India on Tuesday said its wholesales increased 43 per cent year-on-year to 23,323 units in October. The automaker had dispatched 16,331 units to dealers in October 2021. The company dispatched 9,777 units of Seltos, 7,614 units of Sonet, 5,479 units of Carens and 301 units of Carnival to the dealers last month. "The demand that all Kia products have managed to generate in the Indian market signifies exciting times for the brand. It tells us that our product strategy was right on point since the very beginning," Kia India Vice President and Head of Sales & Marketing Hardeep Singh Brar said in a statement. The company has already crossed the 2-lakh cumulative sales mark in 2022 and with two months still remaining, the automaker is confident of ending the year on an unprecedented high, he added. Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd on Tuesday reported a 60 per cent rise in domestic passenger vehicle sales at 32,298 units in October 2022. The company had sold 20,130 units in the same month last year, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) said in a statement. Utility vehicle sales were at 32,226 units, as against 20,034 units in the year-ago month, a growth of 61 per cent, it added. However, car and van sales were down 25 per cent at 72 units, from 96 units in October 2021. "Our sales volume continued to grow in October on the back of strong festive demand," M&M President, Automotive Division Veejay Nakra said. M&M said in the commercial vehicles segment, it sold 20,980 units in October 2022. Total tractor sales were higher by 11 per cent at 51,994 units last month as compared to 47,017 units in October 2021. Domestic tractor sales were at 50,539 units as against 45,420 units in the same month last year, a growth of 11 per cent, while exports were down 9 per cent at 1,455 units as .
Hyundai Motor India on Tuesday reported a 33 per cent increase in total sales at 58,006 units in October. The company had dispatched 43,556 units to dealers in October last year, HMIL said in a statement. Domestic sales increased 30 per cent to 48,001 units last month as compared to 37,021 units in October 2021. Exports grew 53 per cent to 10,005 units as against 6,535 units in the year-ago month.

Luxury car maker Porsche India on Wednesday reported about 37 per cent rise in its sales to 193 units for the third quarter of 2022. The company had retailed a total of 141 cars in the third quarter of 2021, according to Porsche India. Retail sales of 193 units during the third quarter helped Porsche India reach 571 deliveries so far in 2022, surpassing the previous best full-year total of 534 units delivered in 2013, it said in a statement. On a consolidated basis, it has delivered 71 per cent growth in its car sales in the first nine months -- January-September -- of the current year, it added. Porsche India, which is a part of the Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Pvt Ltd (SAVWIPL), had retailed a total of 378 cars in the domestic market in the first half of this year. Mercedes-Benz India has said it is witnessing an accelerated growth in sales of its top-end cars priced above Rs 1 crore, having sold 68 per cent more such vehicles in the first nine months of 2022. According to the company's Vice President - Sales and Marketing - Santosh Iyer, the company, which sold 11,469 units in the January-September period this year surpassing what it sold in the whole of 2021, has seen 30 per cent of its sales coming from its top-end vehicles. Mercedes-Benz India had sold a total of 11,242 units in 2021. "If I look at it internally, we are seeing 68 per cent growth in our TEV segment, which is our top-end luxury segment, compared to the overall growth of 28 per cent. Riding on the back of strong festive season demand, passenger vehicle wholesales in India increased 92 per cent to 3,07,389 units last month, as compared to the same month last year, auto industry body Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers said on Thursday. Passenger vehicle (PV) dispatches from factories to dealerships in September 2021 stood at 1,60,212 units. As per the latest data by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), two-wheeler sales also rose 13 per cent to 17,35,199 units, as compared to 15,37,604 vehicles in September 2021. Motorcycle sales rose 18 per cent to 11,14,667 units, as against 9,48,161 units in September 2021. Scooter sales were up 9 per cent to 5,72,919 units, from 5,27,779 vehicles a year ago. In the September quarter, PV sales increased by 38 per cent to 10,26,309 units, as against 7,41,442 units in the similar period of the last fiscal. German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz on Wednesday reported a 28 per cent rise in sales in India at 11,469 units in the January to September period this year, surpassing what it sold in the whole of 2021. The company had sold 8,958 units in the same period last year, Mercedes-Benz India said in a statement. "Our sales are at pre-pandemic level, having crossed CY 2021 sales numbers in the first nine months this year. The current market momentum gives us the confidence for striving to achieve our highest sales ever," Mercedes-Benz India Managing Director & CEO Martin Schwenk said.
