Kairali Ayurvedic Group is aiming a consolidated revenue of Rs 150 crore by FY26, led by the expansion of its hospitality and Ayurveda treatment centres along with ramp-up of FMCG and OTC business, said its Executive Director Abhilash K Ramesh. The 76-year-old Kairali Ayurvedic Group (KAG) is largely split into three divisions - Ayurveda Centers, Hospitality and Ayurvedic Products - and each is charting its own growth plans, both in domestic as well as foreign markets. The group, which has a debt-free balance sheet, has its entire focus on organic growth by preserving its heritage, in hospitality and in its products business, he added. The Supreme Court sought the Centre's response on a plea seeking inclusion of ayurveda, yoga, and naturopathy in the national Ayushman Bharat scheme. A bench of Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud and Justices J B Pardiwala and Manoj Misra issued the notice to the Centre and others on the petition filed by advocate Ashwini Kumar Upadhyay. The plea, which sought inclusion of the practices in PM-JAY, also known as Ayushman Bharat, said the inclusion would allow a significant portion of the country's population to avail affordable healthcare benefits and wellness in various serious diseases, apart from providing employment to many working in the field of Ayurveda. Ayushman Bharat, which was launched in 2018, has two main components -- PM-JAY and Health and Wellness Centres. Home-grown FMCG and Ayurvedic products maker Dabur on Wednesday announced the acquisition of Sesa Care, engaged in the Ayurvedic personal care and wellness segment, at an enterprise value of Rs 315-325 crore. This new acquisition will help Dabur to expand in the Rs 900 crore ayurvedic hair oil market, the company said in a regulatory filing. It has entered into an agreement to acquire the majority 51 per cent stake from its shareholder True North (a private equity fund) for Rs 12 crore at face value. "The enterprise value is estimated to be in the range of Rs 315-325 crore, including debt of Rs 289 crore, which will be backed by the corporate guarantee of Dabur," it added. While the remaining 49 per cent shares in Sesa, there will be a share swap for the equity shares. "The share swap for the equity shares and remaining 49 per cent CRPS in Sesa will be decided at the time of filing the scheme of merger, based on the valuation reports," it said.
