Co-working operator 315Work Avenue has given on lease 400 desks to a fintech company at its centre in Bengaluru. The company said in a statement that it has leased 400 seats in Bengaluru to a technology and service provider for the financial services industry. The centre is located at Indiranagar. 315Work Avenue has 40 centres, with a total capacity of 40,000 seats, across Bengaluru, Mumbai and Pune. The company manages 1.75 million square feet of office space. Manas Mehrotra, Founder of 315Work Avenue, said: "Flexible spaces are becoming mainstream now. The demand for co-workspaces is constantly increasing not only because such spaces perfectly fit the new normal, but they also help companies save costs, boost productivity and enhance work experience of employees.

Credsquare Technologies to set up R&D hub in Goa; eyes Rs 600 cr funding

Credsquare Technologies Private Limited, a Bengaluru-based artificial intelligence company, on Tuesday said it plans to set up a Research and Development hub in Goa. The move marks the company's commitment towards advancing Make in India artificial intelligence (AI) technology and fostering innovation in the state under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, the company said. The centre will serve as a hub for AI research, development, and experimentation, focusing on creating groundbreaking AI solutions that cater to the unique needs of the region, it added. Further, the company is looking to raise over Rs 600 crore, which will help fund the project, it said. Karnataka govt proposes 2 separate Metro rail projects worth Rs 31,328 cr

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday proposed two separate Metro rail projects in Bengaluru worth Rs 31,328 crore. In his budget speech in the Legislative Assembly, he said a Detailed Project Report has been submitted to the Central government for approval of Metro Phase-3 at a cost of Rs. 16,328 crore. This project encompasses a total length of 45 km starting from Kempapura to JP Nagar Fourth Phase and from Hosahalli to Kadabagere, including western Outer Ring Road line. In addition, a new proposal to construct a new Metro line of 37 km from Hebbal to Sarjapura at an estimated cost of Rs 15,000 crore will be submitted to the Government of India for approval. He said in the current year, the Metro lines will be expanded from Baiyyappanahalli to Krishnarajapura, Kengeri to Challaghatta, Nagasandra to Madawara, RV Road to Bommasandra. RJD chief Lalu Prasad on Thursday said he will travel to Bengaluru for the meeting of the opposition parties on July 17-18. Speaking to reporters at the Patna airport before leaving for Delhi, he said he will go to Bengaluru for preparing the ground for ousting the Narendra Modi government from the Centre in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. "I am going to Delhi for my routine medical examination, including blood tests. After that I will come back to Patna, and then go to Bangaluru for the meeting of the opposition parties, and also for preparing the ground for the ouster of the Modi government from the Centre in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls," he said. The second meeting of the 'like-minded' opposition parties will be held in Bengaluru on July 17-18. The first meeting was held in Patna on June 23.

Toshiba secures contract from Bengaluru water supply body to manage STPs

Toshiba Water Solutions Private Limited on Tuesday announced it has received a contract from Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) for design, upgradation, rehabilitation with capacity augmentation. The firm, a subsidiary of Toshiba Infrastructure Systems & Solutions Corporation (TISS), has also secured the contract for operation and maintenance services of three sewage treatment plants (STPs). The agreement is also for the upgradation and rehabilitation of five STPs in Bengaluru. Toshiba Water Solutions chairperson and managing director Hiroaki Kobayashi said that after receiving the contract for TK Halli Water Treatment Plant in 2020, these are the company's second set of contracts with BWSSB. Passengers flying through Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru (BLR Airport) will now have a new way of experiencing the airport with the launch of 'BLR Pulse' a personalised digital travel buddy to cater to their needs. Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) the operator of BLR Airport, in collaboration with GrayMatter Software Services, has created 'BLR Pulse', an omnichannel platform. "This app alleviates common pre-travel apprehensions like long security queues, wait times, etc. It allows passengers to navigate within the terminal buildings and take control of their journey at departures and arrivals by providing essential information about the airport in real-time," BIAL said in a statement on Monday. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday instructed officials to start at least 250 Indira Canteens, which provide subsidised food, with one outlet for each ward of Bengaluru.
